Alistair Cockburn used to talk a lot about the contextual aspects of agile and how you need different levels of process rigour and ceremony at different levels of scale (number of project members) and different levels of criticality (e.g. are you building a sign-up form for the Christmas party or the control system for a surgical robot).

Whether people say it is good or bad, it is useful to understand the context, scale and criticalilty where they came to that conclusion. Otherwise it is very difficult to compare answers.
