Pretty misleading - it "hit Australia" in April, and there has been no known community transmission so far.

There will be more strains than there are letters in Greek Alphabet. So brace yourself for Delta 2 or Lambda 2.

There is no community transmission of this strain. It was detected in hotel quarantine,

No community transmission
yet
. Australia's hotel quarantine has been very leaky so far when highly transmissible strains of Covid reach the country.

It was detected in April. In the context of this article, it's had its chance. Not to say it won't show up again.
