Why aren't there more? because the two basic propositions "we can|should / can't|should not do something about climate change" have taken up the space, both having "if you aint for us, you're against us" gatekeeping.

Once we get a bit more economic stress, we'll see more people moving out to the country and trying to form communes to live by their ideals; which will have the same harsh reality problems they always do.

There's certainly some of that already, just not enough to make a lot of media noise yet. Techno pagans are learning how to milk cows and goats.



Interesting thought on the two sides being a negative effect on more climate focused groups. Takes the air out of the room in a way.


We all must agree on the basic premise that them other dudes is jerks, at least. Since that is all we can agree on, and any debate is dissent which we can't have; then the sum position of the Movement becomes: "them other guys is jerks".

Its all fun and games, the important part being that the shouting is loud enough to drown out the pariah saying "folks, he's nailed up right now, let's go get a ladder and some pliers OK?"
