That is true, but sometimes YouTube versions are different and sometimes the songs are not even available on YouTube


How do you know that it's better? In my experience, everything is reencoded and lossy.

YouTube uses Opus these days.

This is currently the best lossy codec available.


Opus can save you a bit of bandwidth for the same sound quality, but if the bit rate is high enough, every codecs sound the same/transparent.
