It is hard for me to decide whether the miracle making Beast does is good or bad towards society. I lean towards the bad side, because he acts as a pressure valve. It shows people that no matter how shit your life is, you can always believe in some kind of miracle that one day someone will give you an iphone for free or without any skills or knowledge you can earn a big lump of money. While in reality this is sugar coating the harsh reality of everyday life, of an inherently evil/unequal society ruled/dictated by seriously deranged people.
I don't have a problem when actors or other celebrities perform good deeds that make people's lives better, even if they are selfishly motivated.
What I don't like are deeds that appear to be good but actually make people's lives worse, or people who solicit money for a good cause and spend the bulk of it on themselves.
Not necessarily, if you try to see things as a whole. It's like the wallstreetbets reddit. You don't give them redditors information/knowledge on how to evaluate a stock, you give them an opportunity to jump onboard to by XYZ share. So in essence it is gambling. Put blind hope into a faceless entity that what it says is true and not malicious.
So if you want to uplift people from povery don't give them food, give them the means to create their own food. The moment you start to do that, you gonna anger the "colonists" quite quick.
