This is actually awesome.

Occasionally, I like to fall asleep on the couch with Spotify playing off the TV. Problem is Spotify can be really bright. This solves that issue.

Yes, I could play music a different way. However, this is really convenient.



The old dumb TV I had earlier had a simple "Screen Off" button on the remote. It was very helpful, for exactly these usecases. Especially at home-events, where a display could be distracting.


In my case, I only use the AppleTV remote then rely on HDMI-CEC for everything else.

I've found it far simpler than explaining remotes to people.
