Get your septic system fixed if this is happening. Septic systems are supposed to evaporate the water into the air, not put it back into ground water.

Of course you won't actually see it working like that in a properly functioning system. However that is how it should work.



How do they evaporate into the air? https://www.epa.gov/septic/types-septic-systems "conventional system" is the one I know most common, and I've never seen an evapotranspiration system.

I am in the desert, and still haven't heard of this. Everyone out near me has a leach field.


That is what the Leach field does.



Leach fields evaporate water.
