Not going to take off at scale in India (which the article is about).

Khapli/Emmer is not included in the MSP schedule - it's Wheat/"Gehoon" that is included [0].

Farmers only grow MSP crops at scale because heritage crops don't command the same prices.

But yea, most farmers will grow a mix of traditional crops for personal consumption and MSP crops for money.

My grandfather does the same with "Makka" (heritage corn) versus "Makhi" (mass corn)

Emmer Wheat is so much better than regular wheat.. but a lot more expensive. I hope it becomes far more common
