I think it may be a self-fulfilling prophecy of sort - the more you struggle to make it reasonable, the more C-suite will think that their current IT teams are overpriced and useless, so AI consultants must be the way!

Of course reality will eventually get back to this, but it may take surprising amount of time with usual service quality degradation and losing of customers.
