Ask HN: Have you used HN to find a job or contract?

Hey y'all, have you used hackernews to find a new role? Did you enjoy your time at the company? I am looking for a role or contract. What's your advice?

TypeScript/JavaScript - 3 years Python - 5 years.

Works on both opensource an closed source projects.

In 6 more days there's be a fresh copy, but the "Who Wants to Be Hired (Oct, 2024)" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41709299 is likely the best way to advertise that you want a new role

Its counterpart "Who is Hiring (Oct)" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41709301 is likely to be more helpful since it doesn't require a bunch of hiring managers to read anything but responses

Thanks. I'll check out the YC page.

If you mean to gather data points, no. Never even looked at the job postings on HN.

If you mean to fish for a job, try posting in the relevant weekly thread.
