There was an old post here about one called patchbay (IIRC) then I made one called httpubsub (go, quick and dirty). I'm using one called ntfy.sh now; it's good; has all the use-case & app and stuff. Self hostable FTW.

Ntfy is phenomenal. I love having my own compiled app for the background notifications on a self-hosted instance. It's so easy to hook any update or alerts I want into and get it delivered to any of my devices.

Also, a really nifty cross-platform clipboard.
