I’ve seen like hundreds of articles over the past few years talking about the risks of post-COVID recession? Who exactly was ignoring this?
It’s very weird to me that “the media is ignoring this” can become such an overwhelming media narrative, doesn’t at some point the medias overwhelming attention to a thing mean they’re not ignoring it?
Usually I’d agree with you, the president doesn’t have that big an impact on macroeconomics, but usually the president doesn’t attack the economy in such an acute way, nor advertise that their plan is to cause a recession.
The executive branch removing even the concept of stability and predictability from the US markets has nothing to do with it. It's that darn press and the Democrats!
Want to have a good idea of the costs of your business inputs? Sorry, not possible. You have to guess if it's going to be roughly the same or 50% more in a week. You have to sit and wait for what one man decides. That's a great environment for running a business.
And all stock market players, including the big whales, are just dumb and are easily influenced by the media? Great narrative you've created there.
When the UK's best Prime Minister Liz Truss and her Chancellor of the Exchequer (responsible for the country's finance) introduced their budget, the market found it to be very disastrous and reacted accordingly. Or do you think it was the media painting a narrative that triggered an immediate sell-off?
> And all stock market players, including the big whales, are just dumb and are easily influenced by the media?
Well Democrats and liberals globally generally do regard the voting public as stupid and easily influenced by the media, why are stock market players any different, if not worse?
> why are stock market players any different, if not worse?
Because no one stays rich being stupid. If someone like you "knows" about media manipulation, wouldn't they know about it as well, and they would just ignore whatever "lies" the media is publicizing, and just do what they think is the best so they can remain rich?
But oh noo, you're the one who can see through the "media lies", those people playing with billions of dollars are just so goddamn thick!
