As a side note 10-12 min is the ideal length for a non full feature documentary. I am growing tired of those 20+ minutes repeating and stretching the same topic without going into more depth.
Yes. "To understand this, we have to go back to..." 10 minutes of unnecessary retrospective, allowing insertion of three more ads. Usually you can skip that and get to the five minutes or so of new content.
