Yea this sucks the moment you are shopping for anyone besides yourself. You can split up the items in the grocery store and be done way faster. Even alone, the person at home can add some last minute items.

Just use something self hosted like Mealie. I'll be shopping for what I want to make and then see something is on sale and can easily look up a recipe to add to the list as well.

maybe try your own memory, so you don't lose every scrap of data about yourself to the Book Goblins in the process.
