Currently working on a Startup part time

Currently working on a Startup full time

Full time since January. Still in dev phase and a while before going live. and it's not a pretty sight to see your savings declining steadily (we are bootstrapped on top of this). Yup, I am all in as much as I can go.

note: There is a poll option that might better suite this topic (instead of 4 comments being voted up and down).

Could you resubmit this as an actual poll? This is going to get very messy very quickly the way you've set it up...

And - not working on a startup at the moment. Had one, it died, sold out to be a corporate whore. I like my pimp though.

Not working on a Startup at all

Will you make up your mind already? You can't possibly be doing all 3 at the same time.

I think those posts by minus are your choices (in lieu of the traditional poll).

Working on a master's degree. My startup ideas always turn out to have been solved a month before I think of them.

business-speak:

It's much harder to be innovative.

If you want to make money, pick a product/service that already exists because:

1. It's been tested and hopefully proven.

2. Market is stable/mature (the pioneers have shelled out all the bringing-to-market-funds)

3. Low barrier to entry (prototypes already exist)

Now all your company has to do is either out-market, or out-serve your competition.

It's a big world; simple right! ;)

It might be worthwhile to try anyways if the current solutions suck. :)

I (Mohit Soni) and my 2 friends (Shashank Shekhar and Kalyan Chakravarthy) are working on Flare (A True WebOS). We were finalists in Google Product Prodigy 2009. Very soon we'll be launching Flare as a service.

Working fulltime at a startup (unpaid), consulting three days a week for another (paid).

same here.

How is it working for you? Mine it is my own startup. My cofounder still has his day job. Our progress is way too slow. I'm considering to save as much money and go full time soon.
