if someone slips in front of your house because you failed to clear snow from the sidewalk I believe you can get fined or sued

Justin Trudeau has been in power for 6 years and now he finally wants to address a problem that contributes to a percentage as large as 4% of the real estate market. This man will seriously say whatever feel good crap people wanna hear but don’t actually address problems just to hold onto power.

And yet the amount of support he somehow still has in Canada makes me feel reassured it was a good decision to leave, people in this country will vote for whoever’s most woke even if their actions tell the exact opposite of what they said they stand for.

It used to be fun when it was just my friends, sure once in the while you get that annoying person who’s trying to live a completely different life on social media but overall funny memes, shitposting with friends, checking in at places. Until Facebook implemented the ultimate evil suggestion feature and brought in news articles then everything went to hell.

You are basically saying because some of you believe in God you have the right to force your beliefs on everyone else which is the biggest issue I have with so called pro-lifers. Pushing their religion and worse yet mixing that into policy making.

It's nothing but a feel-good virtue signal boost. Worked for one that fully enabled casual sexual harassments and practiced frat-culture of pressuring workers into drinking alcohol, wouldn't think twice between aggressive cash-burning and laying off workers, severely underpays people who have been with the company for years. CEO blatantly told a journalist to call 1800-EAT-D**. The fact that such company can get certified makes this program a joke.

Guqin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guqin been a long-time wish of mine to learn it, finally took the pandemic as the opportunity to do so since I'm staying home so much.

Vessi shoes: https://vessi.com best shoes I've worn, feels likes slippers, lightweight and waterproof, perfect for the rainy PNW weathers

what (if anything) have you used for pedagogical materials for the guqin? and how effective have they been?

i'd like to futz around with an instrument in that family someday, but there aren't lessons available anywhere near me.

i take lesson once a week from a teacher and the primary focus is technique and learning pieces. I'm also in a facebook group where there are some music scholars who like to study the history, culture and systems related to this instrument. After ~8 months of learning I feel more comfortable with the basic techniques now so I've ventured into reconstructing ancient scores and the group has been helpful in helping me understanding certain notations.

Jumping on the Facebook hate wagon is what gets you clicks these days. Apple stated their policies, Facebook did what they asked and complied. It is their business model and revenue being threaten, I don’t understand what else should be done on their end. Mind you, with this policy change and Apple being on their privacy-morale high horse, the other day I found out for Apple to track you for personalized ad targeting is an Opt-out instead of opt-in like they request from all app developers on their platform.

That's crazy. I haven't heard about this, do you know of any articles about it? I can't find anything on google.

But why? Something I never understand about Twitter is, for your claim, people who have interesting things to say and you want to read about. Why would people be interested in reading a huge essay broken down to 50 tweets instead of just reading a blog posts where you can post comments and discussions in a fashion that makes sense and doesn’t lose the context of the original topic?

You don't read a huge essay broken down into 50 tweets - that's not how it works. In that case they'd just post a link to the essay. The point is twitter helped you discover the essay in the first place. If you've carefully curated your timeline then twitter acts as a content filter for the content you're actually interested in. Over time I've simply lost interest in such content curation, but others may still find it valuable.
