If you'd like a type of sim for the weekend, there's an Euro Truck Simulator type game where you fly an SSTO ship around a planet and in orbit to stations, doing courier missions and such.
Very nice orbital simulator, tho lacks maneuvering computer, hence it's hard if you haven't played KSP (have to wing it to make RV with stations and such).
Demo version and a gamepad are enough to do the most fun thing in the game. Atmospheric re-entry at orbital speed and disintegrating at 30-40km.
Game's called Flight of Nova and it's super chill. Executing the burn correctly and then coasting for 12min to get to a station, watching the views.
Headspace without being tracked and having data brokers cross reference "anonymized" (sic! word wasn't in keyb. dict) info on when I meditate, using which program etc.?
Headspace updated it's privacy policy info recently, which got me to have it checked with an LLM. And it turns out that what you're doing on $100 per year meditation app is still being sold to anyone willing to pay. Using headspace lost it's charm. I wonder if Andy ever agreed to this.
Doesn't the LED going out after 2-3 years make it not only way more expensive (LEDs are easily 10x or more than a regular incandescent light), but also way less energy efficient and much worse for the environment?
These lightbulbs, while using less electricity, use much more energy to produce. And I wonder what with their substrates, if that isn't more difficult to recycle too. I'm not sure, and don't want to judge, but if both every efficiency and recycling are harder, then these bulbs aren't really energy and environmentally efficient.
Not sure if I buy special LEDs, but I have outfit my house with LEDs basically everywhere between 10 and 13 years ago. In that time I had maybe one or two of them die.
Traditional light bulbs have taught us that lights naturally have to be "consumables". That has been far less true for energy saving lamps (of which I have maybe 2 or 3 still left which I planned to replace by LEDs once they die, but they just won't). As far as I can tell, this isn't at all the case for LEDs.
It's much more likely that lamps and ceiling fans made out of plastic break from accidental physical impact or turn ugly due to natural UV discolorization or similar. And probably most will live on until replaced due to changing tastes.
Hey, mentioned it above, assuming your making $80k, it's a one time cost of non expensive standing desk and ergonomic chair, plus 5 minutes of workout before and after work. And stretching brakes during.
Those 15 min is actually quite a lot if you don't have the habit yet. But you're in a better situation than someone working at a slaughter line, with no time to scratch your nose for 2h15min in between brakes not long enough to eat, use bathroom and sharpen your knives for the next 2h15min run.
I still feel sorry for your herniated disk, I don't think it's just your laziness, but more ignorance and equally lazy ignorant surroundings normalizing unhealthy lifestyle.
But you can't say someone that can get up and stretch for 30s every 15 min has it as bad as people running to the toilet and eating by swallowing big bites just to make it in time before the next animal comes to their position in line.
But the point is those industries already have regulation that would encapsulate that specific use case, so safety regulation on the entire AI industry at large would arguably be unnecessary.
Those regulations may or may not be sufficient to prevent an AI hacking in.
Nuclear at least is supposed to be air-gapped, in practice this has been imperfect.
As demonstrated with HuggingFace, such AI driven hacks can be a surprise even to the people who instructed the AI, both by happening at all and also because they can targeted at entities who are not even truly relevant to the instructions given.
